How do I prioritize 1 SSID over the other, using 40F as Controller

Hi,

I'm using 40F as Wifi Controller, and using 831F APs.

I have 2 SSIDs - Guests and Employees.

I want to prioritize the employees over the Guests Radio wise and Bandwidth (QoS) wise.

recommendations ?

Hi,

 

I may found the answer to this question: How to prioritize 1 SSID over the other using a FortiGate-40F as the controller?

  1. Log in to the FortiGate-40F web-based manager.
  2. Go under WiFi & Switch Controller.
  3. Navigate to "SSIDs" and select the SSID you want to prioritize.
  4. Under "Advanced Settings," locate the "QoS Profile" option.
  5. Select the desired QoS Profile that corresponds to the priority you want to assign to this SSID.
  6. Save the changes.

how do I provide priority of the Radio resources to prefer 1 SSID over the other ?

To provide priority of the radio resources to prefer one SSID over the other, you can follow these steps:

 

1. Access the FortiGate GUI and navigate to the Wireless Controller section.
2. Go to the SSID settings for the SSID that you want to prioritize.
3. Look for the Radio Resource Provisioning (DARRP) settings.
4. Enable DARRP for the specific SSID that you want to prioritize.
5. Configure the DARRP settings to allocate more resources (such as channel selection) to the preferred SSID.
6. Save the changes and apply the configuration.

 

By enabling and configuring DARRP for the desired SSID, you can ensure that the radio resources are prioritized to prefer that SSID over others, optimizing the wireless network performance accordingly.
