How can I disable Fortinet Secure DNS Service Portal from blocking web access

6.0.9 on Fortigate 51E

 

Fortinet Secure DNS Service Portal is blocking access to some sites even though I believe that I have all security controls disabled. Have spent a crazy amount of time trying to resolve this - what have I missed?

 

I get the message "Web Page Blocked! - You have tried to access a web page which belongs to a category that is blocked.", even though there's no security profiles enabled in the policy.

    Must be some DNS profile active somewhere.

    Either between Clients and DNS Servers, or internal DNS Server to the Interweb.

     

    Also check your logs.

    'Log & Report -> DNS Query' might give you a hint on the Fortigate as well.

    I had this problem on a 'new to me' 60CM.  I went under the DNS setting and manually set 8.8.8.8 as the DNS and the problem was solved.
