Host Scan Summary Widget - How does it calculate Total Hosts?

Just upgraded a FortiGate from 5.6.5 to 5.6.6.  Noticed that the total number of hosts displayed in the "Host Scan Summary" widget on the main dashboard increased by over 30% after the reboot.

Anybody know how that total is calculated, or the best way to get a list of current hosts?
