Hello FNAC admin,

Correct me if i'm wrong, apparently if you register a host through the host view (users & hosts > hosts), the user doesnt have to go through registration again. Does that mean that the user is like in a safe/whitelist ?

Register host to user

Here I understand they are talking about "host registration" process to a user.

They mean when you register a host (lets say host1) to a user (user1) via menu "Users & Hosts > Hosts > Add", then when this "user1-host1" pair connects to the network it is recognized and assigned to its network without need to register again via active portal or other.

However when the pair "user1-host2" connects to the network then it will need to go through the registration process, e.g. active portal.

Hi BH

If I understand well your question, the response is: any AD user and any FNAC local user is in fact a known user.

I don't know if we can talk about safe/whitelist user in this context.

Known users/groups can be used in UHP and access policy to assign which network they access.

in the "admin guide" and "add or modify a host" chapter in "Register host to user" the paragraph says "A host registered to a user is associated with that user, inherits network access parameters from the user and contributes to the Allowed Hosts count for the user. Each registered device or host consumes one license when it is online. If the host is registered here, the user will not have to go through the registration process elsewhere, such as the captive portal. Only hosts with a valid operating system can be rescanned. Valid operating systems are Windows or macOS."

I'm talking about this part. I don't get it.
