Hardware factory reset on 60E, does it work?

Hi all, 

We have a Fortigate 60E. We don't have that RJ45 cable so we tried to use hardware reset to return to factory defaults. Tried many times like holding the reset button for 10s after power on etc but didn't work. Does the hardware reset work at all on 60E? could the hardware reset be disabled by software?
