Question

HA between 60e and 90e with same Fortios

Hi all, and thank you in advance.

One of our clients have a Fortigate 60e with Fortios 6.02. We want to build a HA with a new 90e. In this cookbook (and in the relates links) it is said that since the Fortios in both devices are the same, and  the wan interfaces are setup with static ip the HA, this configuration should work. Can anyone provide us with more information related to HA with different devices?

Thats not possible. HA can only be formed with the same models.

You can achieve internet gateway redundancy using VRRP using different models, but not with native FGCP HA.

Example documentation for that can be found at http://help.fortinet.com/fos50hlp/56/Content/FortiOS/fortigate-high-availability/HA_VRRP.htm
