GNS3 VM with VMWare Workstation 12 Pro on EC2 instance

Hi,

This is what I hope to have:

[ul]
  • AWS EC2 Windows 2012 instance with GNS3 VM running on VMWare Workstation 12 Pro.
  • A Fortigate FW running in GNS3 VM[/ul]

This is what I have done:

    [ul]
  • Running Windows 2012 base EC2 instance
  • Installed VMWare workstation Pro
  • Installed GNS3 2.2.8
  • Imported the GNS3 VM into VMWare Workstation Pro
  • Setup the GNS3 app and enabled GNS3 VM
  • Launch the GNS3 VM[/ul]

When the GNS3 VM launches, I get the following:

"VMWare workstation and Hpyer-V are not compatible. Remove the Hpyer-V role from the system before running VMWare Workstation.

Hyper-V is not enabled on the role on the server and i cannot remove it.

    Any ideas or recommendations?

    Thanks

    Anthony.

Apparently this is not possible to do on AWS as they do not allow nested virtualisation.

Going to get a high spec PC / Laptop now.

      Good articles on it here:
