FortiWiFi 60D-POE admin password recovery

I am following the the password recovery doc:

I'm using the FortiExplorer to enter the maintainer user name and password and uning a USB cable to get console but the user name an password do not work and my own user name and password doesn't work either???

 

I can SSH and use my own user name and password fine.

    Assuming your admin Id is able to edit system settings, you can change the pw on the admin (or any other admin) pw by:

     

    config system admin     edit "admin"         set password <new pw>     next end

    Thanks, that worked well but do you know why none of the user names and passwords I have issued via the console do not work?
