Question

FortiVoice 50E6

I've been tasked with implementing a FortiVoice 50E6 On-Premise appliance on our HQ. I've had Voice experience with Grandstream... but this feels like a totally different thing. I'd like to know if there's any type of documentation that can help me install an analog trunk.

I'd deeply appreciate the help.

Hello aduba,

I found this solution. Can you tell us if it helps, please?

To install an analog trunk on a FortiVoice 50E6, you can follow the steps outlined in the documentation for configuring analog voice trunks. Here is a concise guide:

  1. Access the Configuration Interface: Go to `Trunk > Analog > Analog` in the FortiVoice interface.

  2. Create a New Trunk: Click on `New` to start configuring a new analog trunk.

  3. Configure Trunk Settings:
    - Enabled: Select this option to activate the trunk.
    - Name: Enter a name for the trunk.
    - Display Name: Enter the caller ID, such as your company name.
    - Number: Enter the phone number provided by your VoIP service provider.

  4. Set Hardware Properties: Port: Click `+` and select the FXO ports you want to use for this trunk. Each FXO port provides an analog phone line for a device like a phone or fax.

  5. Channel Configuration:
    - Max Channel: Specify the total number of channels on the trunk.
    - Max Outgoing Channel: Enter the number of outgoing channels out of the maximum number of channels on the trunk.

  6. Fax Configuration (if needed): Automatic Fax Detection: Configure if you need fax capabilities. This documentation should help you set up the analog trunk on your FortiVoice 50E6.

If you need further assistance, you may want to consult the FortiVoice user manual or reach out to Fortinet support for more detailed guidance.
