Fortiswitch Display Port Statistics

In the Fortiswitch documentation under Display Port Statistics it states that Port Stats will be accessed via FSW REST Monitor API. Can someone shed some light on exactly what this means? I'm seeking a way to get granular information regarding the ports' statistics. Thanks.
