Fortimail Blocklist Sender Domain

Good day Team,

Fortimail v7.4.1

I have a few entries (full email addresses) under IP Policy -> Inbound Session -> Lists -> Sender Blocklist checking

and indeed, it works, no more mails from those senders.

However, I am getting quite a few from same domain, how can someone in Fortimail block only the @domain.com portion of email addresses. Please show me the definite steps to complete this procedure.

So far my Fortimail is working well, just a few domains I want to keep under control.

As per the document shared by Stephen, if you mean you want to specify all senders from domain.com, then did you try with wildcard (*@domain.com)?

Or did I misunderstand your question?

*@example.com - this format worked for me. I forgot about this totally, thanks alot. I did it before but hey, the brain can really go tired at times. I am managing block/safe lists via Policy -> IP Policy -> Inbound Session - > Lists. That is where i have my entries.

Does it matter where you manage block/safe lists? whether via Security -> Block/Safe Lists or Policy -> IP Policy?

Good question.

If you want to manage them globally or per domain then use Security -> Block/Safe Lists. This is the most common used method.

But if it is session-related then just put it in the session. In fact there may be multiple IP policies in your FML, and in some specific cases you may need to specify a different session profile for each IP policy and specify a different safe/block list for each policy.
