Question

Fortigate VM - unstable ping if IPS is activated

Hi!

I am just testing Fortigate VM (test-license with only one CPU on vSphere 6.7U1).

There are some strange performance-problems. The VM does just route and NAT between two networks. There is only ONE ping running.

- If IPS/AppControl is disabled, the ping is stable at <1ms

- If IPS/AppControl is enabled, ping is running between <1ms and 400ms

CPU of the VM is only at 0-10%

SMB-file-transfers are running with FULL 10 GbE.

Did you / Do you see such a behaviour on your FG-VMs?

Regards and thank you,

KPS

Update: Ping is also unstable, if i click on entries in the web-GUI, although CPU-usage is very low.
