Fortigate unit no internet but local internal have connection

Hi All,

Has someone experienced their fortigate unit has no connection and under system information the WAN IP keeps spinning.

When I rum commands from CLI trying to access google DNS (8.8.8.8) it's unreachable. But local internal networks had the access to the internet.

What FortiOS version are you running? Are you saying that “execute ping 8.8.8” from the cli will not work?

Hi,

Check the default route to management IP to reach external network .Also configure the valid DNS in the fortigate .

Don't expect traffic through a dedicated management port to be routed! It's not.

See to it that outbound traffic leaves on a WAN port. As @emnoc would put it, "diag debug flow is your friend!"
