Fortigate transparent mode enabling web cache policy ?

Hello, I have a Fortigate 800C 5.0.11 configured with proxy web filter inspection mode, does enabling web cache on user identity policy help reduce internet bandwidth use ? I think so if it is configured as explicit proxy but not sure in my case.
