Fortigate license renewal after few months after expiry

Good day to all.

We have FortiGate 200f and its license had expired some 3 months ago.

I want to confirm if we renew it say we purchase one year enterprise license will the new license be activated after the date it is purchased and expire after its duration (say one year)  is reached ?

Regards.
