Fortigate IPS, DNS Filter etc...
Do you have to use the Fortinet DNS servers in order for all the filtering subscription services to work properly?
No, you need to use fortinet dns only if you are going to use fortigaurd DNS FILTER, so that the dns query will be intercepted by fortinet for further analysis.
For all other services like ips, it's not mandatory to use fortinet dns. You can use any dns servers as per your requirement.
