Fortigate Deployment two geographically separate data centers.

Hey guys,

we are going to deploy 2 fortigates in transparent mode in the internet segment in two different data centers,

what are the requirements to configure HA between them ? does both fortigate needs to have L2 connections between

them ?

Do you really need HA between 2x GEO locations?

Does the layer3 device have redundancy built in?

would you be better deploying 2x transparent units per-DC and using the STPprotocol to establish link-redundancy ?

And yes for transparent you will need layer2 connections ( 2x interfaces )
