FortiGate Cloud log uploading suppressed on FortiOS 7.4.11 with Basic subscription

Hi Fortinet Community,

We are facing an issue with FortiGate Cloud logging on a FortiGate-100F.

Device details:

  • Model: FortiGate-100F
  • FortiOS: 7.4.11 build 2878
  • Deployment: Standalone / NAT mode
  • FortiCloud subscription: Basic/Free
  • FortiCloud retention: 7 days

Issue:

FortiGate Cloud stopped receiving new logs after 05-Sep-2026. The FortiGate GUI shows:

"Log uploading has been suppressed. A valid FortiGate Cloud Standard subscription or the latest FOS patch is required to avoid service impact."

The last Cloud log upload was recorded on 05-Sep-2026.

We verified that FortiCloud logging is enabled:

config log fortiguard setting
set status enable
set upload-option realtime
set interface-select-method auto
end

FortiCloud account status:

acct_id=itsupport@datatemplate.com
acct_st=OK

Cloud controller status:

Account: name=itsupport@datatemplate.com, status=200, type=basic

However, fgtlogd shows:

Server status:      up
Server log status: disabled

FortiCloud controller connectivity is also working:

173.243.132.25:443

Basic FortiGuard connectivity tests are successful with 0% packet loss, but the FortiGate currently reports:

FDN availability: unavailable
last successful time: Thu Sep 10 02:45:26 2026

We would like to confirm:

  1. Is the "Log uploading has been suppressed" message expected for a Basic/Free FortiGate Cloud subscription when running FortiOS 7.4.11?
  2. Is upgrading from 7.4.11 build 2878 to 7.4.12 the expected remediation?
  3. Could the current FDN availability: unavailable status be contributing to the Cloud logging issue?
  4. Is there any way to restore Cloud log uploading without upgrading firmware or moving to a Standard subscription?
  5. Will logs generated while Cloud uploading is suppressed be uploaded retrospectively once the service is restored, or are only new logs uploaded?

Any guidance on the recommended troubleshooting path would be appreciated.

Thanks.
