Fortigate Antivirus not getting update for a long Time

Might be because signatures will only be updated if used. If you have an AV profile, have you used it in a policy? If not, you've got an explanation.

If any AV profile is in use, I would check the source IP for Fortiguard service

config system fortiguard

   set source-ip x.x.x.x

and insert, like, the LAN IP of the FGT. Try the update again with "exec update-now".

AV engine version 7.0 0030 is the one which is associated with FortiOS 7.6. That is the last released version:

It is expected behavior that it will not update to a newer version, since there hasn't been any newer version released yet.

Dear Reza,

The AI Malware Detection Model, Antivirus Definitions, and Mobile Malware systems were last updated on August 16, 2024. Since that update, there have not been any new updates or revisions made to these systems.

You can even check in the support portal to check if there are any updates and if you have any, you can manually download and upload the same on the FortiGate.

The default auto-update schedule for FortiGuard packages is automatic. The update interval is calculated based on the model and percentage of valid subscriptions, within one hour.
