I don't remember well when we were running 4.0MR3 15 years ago or so. But I think the "maintainer" operation was the same. So try following below:

Thanks, but I already tried maintainer and it doesn't work.

Are you sure you put the correct password (case sensitive) within 14 second? If so, I don't know any other way. You need to find an older guy than me.

If the maintainer account does not work properly, you can only format the CF card by the console, and then use tftp to import the image to restore the device.

I have seen that there's a way to format it, but how can I store at TFTP server before that ?

Can refer to this document:

https://community.fortinet.com/t5/FortiGate/Technical-Tip-Formatting-and-loading-FortiGate-firmware-image/ta-p/191946

All configuration and image will be lost due to formatting CF, If the configuration is not important, you can do this. In addition, you need to prepare the image of the FGT80C in advance. The last FGT80C version is v5.6.14 GA Release, which may need to find TAC to download.

If you can lose the config, or have a backup config.

Dear khee,

I'm not certain if the FortiGate 80C has a reset button, but a number of the smaller models do have one (a pinhole labelled reset); pressing the button by inserting a paperclip or similar, usually within 30-60s after reboot, triggers a factoryreset. That would lose you the configuration, but you should be able to log in with admin/no password.

Details on the reset button procedure here: https://community.fortinet.com/t5/FortiGate/Technical-Tip-How-To-Reset-To-Factory-Default-Configuration/ta-p/198660?externalId=FD33883
