Fortigate 70F Digital I/O Connector software-defined alarms

Hi,

i have a fortigate 70F rugged. it has a digital I/O module. how do i used this digital i/o with the software? 

i understand the use case of trigger and alarm for example but does it also have something related to auto policy changes as result of it?
