Fortigate 600D - Internet connection termination and Speed Settings

We are planning to purchase a Fortigate 600D as it has 2 X 10 GE SFP+ interfaces. We will be terminating a 1Gbps ( fiber link) from the ISP on one of these 10 GE interfaces. My question is

1) Can we modify the speed on these interfaces to run at 1 Gbps  assuming the other end also supports it?

2) Can we terminate the Internet connections on any of the available ports on the Fortigate or are there dedicated ports ?

Thanks

    Hello,

1: No, 10G is 10G. Speed on SFP need to match speed on port, and you can't set the speed on the port, it is fixed. But the 600D has 8 gigabit SFP slots, why not use one of those?

It is still better to terminate the ISP fiber in a switch first, that gives you most options.

2: WAN or not doesn't matter, you can use any port.

    hi

    1) don't konw !

    2) yes, for example I'm currently using on 100D as alternate WAN a tagged vlan on port 4 with a 500Mb Fiber Link
