Fortigate 50E Switch Ports

From the datasheet I see that the interfaces in this model are named "Switch Ports" and not "Internal Ports" like in other models.

Does it mean that I cannot remove them from the switch and assign a different ip/subnet to each of them?

No, you have the same option to break the switch and manage each port separately. They will be assigned default names of lan1 through lan5.
