Question

FortiGate 101E WAN configuration

Good evening!

I have a FortiGate 101E with two internet providers using both WAN ports. They are configured so that when WAN1 goes down, WAN2 takes over, but only for failover purposes.
My goal is to use each WAN service for a specific VLAN. For example, VLAN 01 should use WAN1, and VLAN 02 should use WAN2.
Is it possible to achieve this configuration?
Thank you very much!

Hi @registracionesROS ,

What you can do:

1) Make sure that you have two default routes with wan1 and wan2 with the same AD;

2) Then you may use Policy Routes to redirect the traffic for VLAN01 and VLAN02 via wan1 and wan2, respectively.

Here is the article about how to configure Policy Routes on FGT:

Or, you can configure SD-WAN with two interfaces then set up specific rules for normal situation and failover for each LAN VLAN.
There are many documentation and instruction video available on-line. You just need to search with "Fortigate SD-WAN configuration step by step" or something like that.
The official FTNT's documenation is in the admin guide for your version of FortiOS like below:

Are you using SD-WAN?  If not why not?
