fortiedge fortiextender profile VAP interface problem

Hi everyone,

while creating a profile for a FEX device, i'm unable to add a new meber of type VAP in the Switch Interface. the VAP list is empty, even if the SSID i've created isn't in bridge mode. Accessing the web interface of the FEX it allows me to add a VAP port with the SSID, but i need a massive/remote deploy without accessing every single FEX.

Someone know ho to solve this?

Hi,

I resolved the issue myself. The FEX web interface behaves differently from the FortiCloud profile.

When creating a new SSID and radio interface and saving the profile, the system automatically generates a new WiFi interface for each added SSID. Instead in the web interface it is possible to add the VAP immediately after creating the SSID.

It is also necessary to configure each automatically created WiFi interface with a static IP address of 0.0.0.0/0 and disable DHCP. After that, the interface can be added as a VAP to any desired switch interface.
