Question

Forticlient vpn v7 deletes my dns search domains on MacOS

Hello everyone,

I'm using forticlient vpn v7.0.0.0022 on macOS 11.2.1.

My usual DNS configuration when using my Mac has one nameserver and three search domains.

Every time I connect to fortivpn, the search domains are removed from my /etc/resolv.conf file, and this breaks other things on my laptop that rely on having search domains.

Reading https://kb.fortinet.com/kb/documentLink.do?externalID=FD37484 my guess is that when dns-suffix is not set in the configuration, then forticlient interprets it as "wipe any existing search domains". But for my case, this should be interpreted by forticlient as "don't change the existing search domains".

Is there a way to do this ?

Thank you!
