Question

Forticlient VPN setup ended prematurely because of an error. Your system has not been modified.

Hi all,

 

I tried installing forticlient VPN onto my new computer - Surface Laptop 7. However, it shows the following error.

 

Anyone able to support to rectify this issue?

Can you try an older mature version, like 7.0.13 or 7.2.5.

Didn’t have a solution. Because what happened was that the device’s processor using snapdragon and Fortinet has not release any updates that’s compatible with it. You can check if yours is likewise.

***FIX***
If anyone is still experiencing this issue, here a potential solution that worked for me.

Go into: C:\Users\Administrator\AppData\Local\Temp

Delete Everything.

Then, run the ARM64 installer you can download from Fortinet

When the installer "ends prematurely", go into the same Temp file, find the folder FCT_{...}

Next, give admin access to Forticlient.msi and install it. It should install this time and work after restarting.
