Hello, How can I check my FortiClient version in FortiGate ? I just want to use FortiGate and nothing else.
FortiGate Version : 6.5 or 7
Is it possible to use FortiClient free edition ?

Hi @MerajY

Unfortunately, you can't check the respective without FortiTelemetry being sent to FortiGate. FortiTelemetry would require FortiClientEMS, hence, it is not available with the free version of Forticlient.

The only free version is FortiClient VPN. The VPN-only version of FortiClient offers SSL VPN and IPSecVPN but does not include any support. You can download this software from: https://www.fortinet.com/support/product-downloads

There is no FortiClient in FortiGate. You can configure SSLVPN or IPSec VPN on a FortiGate and connect to the respective service via FortiClient. You can find the compatibility list in FortiClient release notes. The following is the FortiClient 7.0.5 (Windows) release notes:

You can see that the list of compatible FortiOS is listed in the document:

The following FortiOS versions support IPsec and SSL VPN with FortiClient (Windows) 7.0.5:

7.0.0 and later
6.4.0 and later
6.2.0 and later
6.0.0 and later

Last but not least, if you are using SSLVPN and IPSec VPN feature, you can use the free edition that is designed for VPN connection only:

let me ask my question again, I am using SSL VPN in my FortiGate and my clients using FortiClient to connect to my network. My goal is to find out what version of FortiClient my clients are using. Is there any way to find out the version if my clients use FortiClient VPN Only ?
