Hi Seems i am not the only one with this problem. Anyone?? I am a casual user of forticlient because i only use it to support one client. The setup is such i need to run forticlient to open a VPN connection to their site. When i am not actively supporting them, i do not need forticlient running on my laptop as it takes up resources. I normally go to the taskbar and shutdown forticlient and this works fine, but is getting to be a pain, as i hardly need to support this client anymore. How can i configure forticlient to not automatically run on bootup? I tried going to " Windows Services" and setting the " Fortinet Services Scheduler" to " Manual" but i get a " the parameter is incorrect" message. Any ideas? Glen

yes that is a solution, whatever light vpn client is, but i dont want to break my setup with the client by unistalling one piece of software, only to install another. Where and how would i get " light VPN client" if there is no other solution? Glen

you will get it from the support site: http://support.fortinet.com login and click firmware and then select FortiClient.

Sorry to say i do not have login rights to support at forticlient, as i am not a client of theirs. So any other suggestions? What about the original request to stop forticlient loading at startup. Is this not possible? Glen

I have the same problem and are curious about which version of Windows you are running? I use Windows 7, 64 bit.

I am using Windows XP SP3. Curios that no one seems to know the answer to this! Glen

I am running Win7 Pro x64. Forticlient starts up when I boot up and although I can connect to other computers on my local network (at work and home) I cannot access the internet if it' s running. So, I have to close or shutdown forticlient. This means I have to launch the app when it' s needed, but that in itself is not an issue. It' s the fact that I have to shut down Forticlient to have internet access. Btw, the only item I have installed is the vpn. Not antivirus, malware, etc.
