Question

FortiClient SSLVPN disables DNS Server Client

I looked online and in the Fortinet forums for the solution to my problem, but I am writing this to double check.

When I connect my FortiClient SSLVPN (version 4.0.2254), which was supplied by my work to connect to my work, then my DNS Client Service in services.msc is disabled until I manually restart the DNS Client Service or disconnect the FortiClient SSLVPN.

Generally I have to re-enable the DNS Client Service three or for times during my work day.

If I do not enable the DNS Client Service, then I can't load or access internet websites in my web browser.

I found a solution in the FortiNet forums to edit the registry (regedit.exe) and enable the DNS Client Service.

However, being scared of editing the regedit.exe, I want to know if there is an easier or safer way to enable the DNS Client Service permanently?

All help and suggestions will be appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
