Forticlient - RDP

I am using FortiClient Console client 5.4.2.0860 on a non-domain virtual machine.

I can RDP to the machine from home and connect client. However, as soon as client is connected, my RDP connection is dropped. Any idea what might be going wrong? I have unchecked 'use default gateway on remote network' but it has no effect. I do notice that that this 'use default gateaway' gets checked automatically from time to time.

ps: the only way to reconnect RDP is to go to office and dis-connect Forticlient.
