Hi all, quick question for the Fortinet community:

Is it possible to import an IPsec VPN configuration into FortiClient via XML including all parameters (excluding user credentials) while keeping the Pre-Shared Key encrypted?

hi,

the PSK is exported encrypted in the preshared_key param , https://docs.fortinet.com/document/forticlient/7.4.2/xml-reference-guide/739387/ipsec-vpn

Ok, but if I export the FortiClient configuration without saving personal authentication data (username and password), and then import that configuration, all the other existing VPN connections are removed.

I need to know if there is a way to create an XML file, or something similar, that can be imported into FortiClient (in the XML / auto‑configuration section) to automatically configure a VPN, while keeping the pre‑shared key encrypted, without overwriting the other VPN connections already configured.

Is this possible?
