FortiClient EMS Fabric Connector Issues

I'm Fairly new to the FortiGate/FortiClient platform. I'm trying to integrate my FortiGate into my FortiClient EMS server via "FortiClient EMS Fabric Connector". Follow the documentation, but the connector won't come up. No errors, just red down indicator and when I try to pull tags during group creation, it sees nothing. 

Can anyone shed any light on what I might have missed? Both EMS and FG are on private networks, fully routable between one another. Selected 'Fortinet CA' as the trusted SSL certificate. 

FG is already integrated with FSSO fabric connector running on AD DC without issue. Just can't get the EMS connector to come up. 

Any thoughts/ideas would be greatly appreciated.
