Forticlient EMS 7.4.6 Unable to create Installer Package

Hi Everybody,

I just installed a new Forti Client EMS 7.4.6 installation with a trial license on VMWare.
EMS is nicely setup, using a signed cert etc.

Now when trying to make a installer package i'm unable to do that.
According to the documentation and EMS training I should be able to select between "Create installer " and "Create installer config" but don't get that option.
It just let's me go through the creat installer wizard and at teh end I just can do a "download".

Is it something i'm doing wrong or is it some bug/feature on a newly released version (released at 17-3-2026) as usual with FortiNet?

referenced documentation was the ems 7.4 training and the EMS 7.4.6 quickstart guide: https://docs.fortinet.com/document/forticlient/7.4.6/ems-quickstart-guide/942839

Kind regards
Roger Beurskens

Well, automagicly this issue was resolved.
Had a call with an SE today, didn't have time to look yesterday but today I was shown the normal Forticlient installer menu.
Last fridaymorning (just after the installtion at 8 o'clock) I only had the option to use the "manual installer" under advanced options. The switch was greyed-out (to bad I didn't make a printscreen of it) so the only option was to generate the config file/JSON.

Today everything worked like normal. It could be 2 things in our opinion.. first one is that the EMS installation was to fresh and didn't already download the list from fortinet servers what installers could be made ( i only got the forticlient 7.2.12, 7.4.5, and the 7.4.6 to select from) or the european servers weren't up to date to allow the forticlientems 7.4.6 server to connect to it or something like that.

Most interesting thing is dat now i don't have the option to make a 7.4.6 version installer, the newest one is 7.4.5.

When looking back into the alerts I do see that installerpackages from the other versions became available somewhere last friday afternoon.
So I guess it has something to do with that.

Something weird happened, but all working now.
Maybe I was to quick with installing the 7.4.6 after release ;)

hi,

are you referring to this? Create a manual installer that is not available?

you just need to click the Advanced Options to expand/show it

It was just the other way around.. I dind't have the normal one. "Create a manual installer" was selected and the switch greyed out.

We got the same bug. Today installed 7.4.6 but cant create Installers. Only download the json file. There is no "Finish" Button at the end. Tried everything. Synced License new, reboot VM and many more. Nothing helps. I hope after i have read your post, tomorrow i can create installers.

hi, same issue i had on licensed EMS. it would appear that some time is needed after install in order for it to complete some tasks in the background in order to be able to create installer packages.

had it at some point no long ago in my lab, trial license for 3 devices and worked just fine.

as for how long until it creates the installer, im afraid i dont have a solid answer for you. for me it worked a couple of days later when i had time to access it again.
