Forticlient crashing servers - 5.4.1/2 windows 2012R2

I had a few different servers go down recently - they just go comatose and need to reboot.

I've also had a few of those servers run out of HD space from the windows temp file being full. When I checked I had about 1 million GIUD type directories with files like vir_extreme_flat_sig.tmp And a whole bunch of log files from some installer.

These look like forti files to me. Anyone else having this issue? Any ideas on how to fix?

I put a support ticket in today for this and was told that it was a bug that has been resolved in 5.4.3 version of the FortiClient software.

I have this same issue on a Windows 10 VM.

It started Monday. Those temp files fill up and crash the C: drive.

I can delete them, but it's troublesome to have to rescue a crashed VM every morning.

I have uninstalled the Forticlient until the cause and a resolution are identified.

As a temporary fix, perhaps limit the size of the temp folder on the server. If only the temp folder fills up, it won't crash the server. Or perhaps limit the storage capacity of the process that's spawning the files in temp.
