Forticlient causes BSOD after restart

I have installed Forticlient 5.4 on many laptops with no huge issues.  Sometimes it takes a few attempts to connect, bu that's a different issue.

I now have a brand new Lenovo Thinkpad T550 Win7 after installing Forticlient 5.4 I get a BSOD when I reboot.  I am installing VPN only and have tried to uninstall numerous times but with the same results. 

The dumpfile says fortigate.sys error.  I have tried to disable AV, cleaned the registry, SCF, checked driver.  I am lost.  Should I try a factory reinstall of the OS or is there a way to fix this issue.  Thanks in advance for this issue.
