FortiClient autoconnect

Is it possible to make some batch script and put some task scheduler to run ssl vpn ? Session is not holding all the time, even with newest forticlient version. So instead of buying licence, is it possible to make this work, i will somehow ping what i need through tunnel, and if there is no ping, to connect to vpn. Thats idea. P.S. i am not figure out why this options is free to use but ok :)
