FortiClient 5.6 CLI support and FortiClient Standalone Fortinet support

Hello,

I have a question about the FortiClient 5.6 - wheter it has a CLI support - establish VPN connection from CLI? Probably not.

Why am I asking that? - The "old" SSL-VPN standalone client has this feature.

 

The FortiOS 5.6 release notes (also 5.4.x release notes) says:

SSL VPN standalone client no longer supports the following operating systems:

[ul]
  • Windows 7
  • Windows 8 / 8.1
  • Windows 10
  • Virtual Desktop for Windows 7[/ul]

     

    If I check the FortiClient Tools for 5.6. I can see the update files for the standalone client - folder: SSLVPNcmdline

     

     

     

    So updates are exists for the standalone client but no support?

    Can anyone explain me this?

    Probably my understanding is wrong...
