Question

FortiClient 5.4.0.0780 - Office 2016 - Outlook and Word Very Slow

We are running Office 2016 (Office 365 Licensed, local install)

Windows 7 x64 machines

Outlook is very slow to open with FortiClient enabled.  It sits on "opening profile" for 30 seconds or more.

Opening MS Word is very slow, 30-40 seconds just to open.

With FortiClient shutdown, both open nearly instantly.

I have tried disabling features one at a time to pinpoint the issue, however, with all AntiVirus and Web Security disabled, both are still slow.

It seems to be specific to Word and Outlook.  Excel opens at normal speed regardless.

Thanks

Hi , we face similar problems, with outlook 2016, when we disable the forti proxy service (by xml) problems are gone. example: when a users wants to open his exchange personal archive it takes very long for outlook to respond. realy hope 5.4.1 solves some issues

We have the same problem. After an update this became very slow, sometimes start Word takes more than 60 seconds. Tests without firewall protection start without problems.

We include domain microsoft, office, live, skype over WebFilter, DeepInspection, Application Control and we continue observing random behaviors.  FortiAnalyzer shows that the traffic is not blocked.

    Any ideas ?

(system settings - forti proxy -turn off https proxy)
