Forticlient 5.4.0.0780 - Cannot login Warning Permission denied. (-455)

Windows 7 Pro installed fresh from the CD.

1. Installed the following updates which are needed for SHA-2: KB2921916 KB3035131 KB3033929

 

2. Reboot

 

3. Install Forticlient 5.4.0.0780 msiexec /i Foriclient INSTALLLEVEL=3 /qb /norestart Starting VPN via forticlient = Warning Permission denied. (-455)

 

Does anyone has a solution or has the same problem?

    Hi,

     

    I have found the solution to fix the -455 error and happy to share it with you !

     

    Open Internet Explorer, settings, internet options, advanced, security part

    Activate TLS 1.1 and TLS1.2 

     

    IE 8.0 has default activated TLS 1.0 and 3.0 

    IE 11.0 has default activated TLS 1.0, 1.1 and 1.2 

     

    This means on updated pc's with IE11 the VPN will not give the -455 error and this explains the not updated pc's gave you the -455 error.
