I have a Fortigate 110C veriosn 5 build 228 with FortiAP 221B version FP221B-v5.0-build039. I notice among other things that the AP stops working about every 35 minutes. In the logs I see this. 19 11:43:28 ap-fail AP WAPD-HALL failed. Then it rejoins the network and clients reconnect. Has anyone else seen this behavior and is there a fix?

Hi Mike, I think the release notes states that you shoulde use FortiAP 5.0.5 (build 048) with FortiOS 5.0.4 (build 228).
The FortiAP device must be running FortiAP v5.0 Patch Release 5 build 0048 or later.

I' ve been reading the patch release notes and it seems lately (with new 5.0.x releases anyway), you essentially have to upgrade the FortiAP firmware with each FortiOS 5.0.x update. Glad the company is holding off upgrading the 50+ fgt devices we maintain to 5.0 until our remaining 200As are replaced. Of the 50+ fgts deployed we must have something between 30 to 40 220Bs out in the field, attached to those fgts. Going to be a bit of a headache applying firmware updates to some 80 fortinet devices and in some cases 2-3 times over.

A FortiManager would make it easier for you with the updates. You could push out a FortiAP firmware to all AP´s and then a update for all FortiGates ;)

No dice on that -- company is planning on decommissioning the 400A (not supported on 5.0) and right now it is debatable if they will sink more money on another unit (which is supported on 5.0); considering we use our 400A now mainly for backup/checking status/remote connecting to units behind double-NAT. Boss wants me looking into developing a workable upgrade plan to move these units to FortiCloud, considering it pretty much does 95% of what we need. (It should be easier to upgrade the fgt devices once we are on FortiCloud.).

Thanks for the replies. I will try to update to 48. Lately after upgrading to FortiOS 5, I have been immersed in forum postings and tutorials. I will post back with the results. Thanks again.
