Forti VPN version numbers

So 7.4.3.8758 was a patchfix version last month. A few days ago they released 7.4.3.4726 and I applied it...and now my patch management is crying that the patchfix version is newer...but it's clearly not.

Thanks forti for not knowing how numbers work.

I think it was "7.4.3 hotfix 1.8758", a special version. So the new one "7.4.3.4726" is not technically out of numbering order.

So is there no way to update it now without uninstalling the old version? Surely it would have made more sense to make this version 7.4.3.9000 to avoid this issue?

Just running the MSI silently does not update the hotfix version. Using "REINSTALL=ALL REINSTALLMODE=vamus" works ok.

At least I've been doing "uninstall_then_reinstall" for last 10 years or so. I just upgraded my FCT for Win from the hotfix to .4726 after backing up the config, then restored it after upgrade without any problem.
However, when I tried to do the same on my Macbook, I couldn't restore the backed-up config with an error, probably because the previous version was .6667. I didn't updated this one to the hotfix. Since the backup config is encrypted by a password, I can't modify the config file. So only way seems to be configuring it from scratch.
