Forti Client ems upgrade error

I have installed FortiClient EMS version 7.4.4 (trial). I deployed this instance as a VM. I am trying to perform an automatic upgrade from the GUI to version 7.4.6. Unfortunately, it keeps showing an update error. In the logs, I see errors and warnings:

Err:5 https://dl.winehq.org/wine-builds/ubuntu jammy InRelease

try

sudo sh -c 'echo "deb http://apt.postgresql.org/pub/repos/apt $(lsb_release -cs)-pgdg main" > /etc/apt/sources.list.d/pgdg.list' wget --quiet -O - https://www.postgresql.org/media/keys/ACCC4CF8.asc | sudo apt-key add - sudo apt update

Maybe I should back up the configuration on version 7.4.4, install a new 7.4.6 instance, and load the configuration from version 7.4.4? The only question is whether the license will work on the new EMS instance.

Bumping this topic — does anyone have any ideas?

1. I can’t do what “funkylicious” suggested because I’m using a VM, and there’s no access to the Linux shell.

2. For testing, I set up a new VM with version 7.4.5, hoping to migrate the configuration from the old one. Unfortunately, after setting up the new VM, I’m having a problem with the license.

Does anyone know another solution?

I have the same error during the update. We created a ticket a few days ago, but we haven’t received any response yet...

My problem has been resolved. Support sent me a hotfix, and after applying it, the automatic update completed successfully.

Can you share this hotfix with me: tomeks@programnet.eu

I have the same problem. First made an upgrade from 7.4.5 to 7.4.6 which worked fine. But update to 7.4.7. resulted in the same error. Now I have an EMS Server in undefined State. Service seems to run with 7.4.6. But I cant do any change since the overlay “is updating 50%” still blocks the Webinterface.  I created a support case but only got this informationlink https://docs.fortinet.com/document/forticlient/7.4.7/ems-administration-guide/880046/upgrading-from-an-earlier-forticlient-ems-7-4-version which doesnt help not having the hotfix. This is about 2 days ago. I can revert to a snapshot prior the update to 7.4.7 but this only helps with the hotfix.  Does anybody know if the update would work with the new provided Version of 7.4.7 without the hotfix after reverting the system to 7.4.6?  We only have active directory and fortigate connection, no  radius ..

Hi sysadminqskills,

It sounds like another user has been able to resolve this by contacting FortiCare - have you tried getting in touch?

thank you for your answer. I have created a support ticket but waited 3 days for an update and today another 8 uhr. I have reverted the snapshot and tried the update with the cli still the same errors even if i dont use radius , oath connections or rremote backup. Now reverted again to 7.4.6 and hopefully wating for an answer to my ticket

I’m sorry to hear it sysadminqskills. I understand you’re likely hoping for an answer here while you wait, but hopefully our FortiCare team will get back to you soon.
