FortGate 200B IP Sec VPN to MS Azure

Hi Community

Currently, I am using FortiGate 200B, v4.0,build0338,111206 (MR2 Patch 10).

According to these links, it seems that only version 5.4 to 5.6 is supported:

https://cookbook.fortinet...pn-microsoft-azure-56/

https://cookbook.fortinet.com/ipsec-vpn-microsoft-azure-54/

Has anyone tried using v4.0 to connect to MS Azure with IP sec VPN?

Officially it seems not to be supported, however, technically, it should work?

Eg:

- Configure Phase 1, Phase 2 settings

- Configure Pre shared key

- Configure encryption

- DH group

- And of course the policies.

Any insights on this?

Much appreciated.

I'm sure it would work you  just need to define the correct proposals. BTW  I have the same  FGT200B  in a lab  with VPNs to almost everything on planet earth.

Your observations and topics are correct. Where  you will  have issues is what  cipher/proposals  are using  DHGRPs values 14+ or high and these older versions do not support such proposals.
