Fortclient Windows 10 VPN Before Login

Hi Folks,

 

I am testing Forticlient 5.6.6 on a Windows 10 Laptop and trying to make "VPN Before Login" work. I have create an SSL VPN and enabled this option, but when booting the machine we do not get any options to connect to the VPN before the windows login.

 

Just wondered if anyone else had seen this problem and resolved it?

I was told this is a known bug in Forticlient 5.x. It usually works, then randomly it will not work. I haven't been able to deduce a pattern on my systems. It is supposedly fixed in forticlient 6.x.

I have been testing 6.x and haven't seen the problem pop up.

The behavior appears to be that if no one is logged into the computer, the VPN before login option appears. If the computer was allowed to time out/sleep- the next time you turn it on, you're technically still logged in. Your username is pre-populated and it only is asking for a password, the option doesn't appear.

Hi Thanks for your response.

 

I have done some more testing today and also found that it does not always happen.

 

So I will try the latest version of Forticlient 6.X
