Exclusions in relation to 'scheduled scan'

I have read that the FortiClient EMS, Malware protection policy has the ability to exclude paths.

It is mentioned that this is an exclusion list applied for/during RTP, on-demand scan, and cloud-based scans.

Does this mean that the schedules scans ignore the exclusion list?
