Hello,

i have heard that appliances that can upgrade to 5.0 for example FG 110C and are now running fortiOS 4.0 , will soon not be supported anymore.

can someone confirm this?

Yes a FGT110C can be upgraded to  5.0.x and even to 5.2.x.( just follow the upgrade migration path )

Typically  FTNT has a 3 year lifecyle for any train of code, & will provide maintenance support for 4 years after advertising the LOD & will support  the devices for 5 years after the LOD. Devices can be EoL based on FTNT decisions and choices or based on new features and hardware that they develop.

A FGT110C for example has  LOD of  8/20-13,  but is supported to 8/20/18. So this will cover major/minor upgrades and bug fixes that are security related. FTNT has also provided a great migration suggestion for devices that are in the EoL cycle.
