Do I need to schedule downtime to upgrade FortiManager VM to from 5.2 to 5.4

We always do FM updates during office hours.

 

Can only be problematic if you are using FortiManager as a Fortiguard Distribution Point.

 

If this functionality is enabled, you would take the web filtering and email filterating database down.

But even then it depends how the fortigates are configured:

- Is it allowed to use public fortiguard service when private servers are unavailable (Fortiguard Setting)

- Web access is still allowed on webfilter rating errors. (web filter setting)
