Different modes for CLI in web UI

Hi everybody,

I've noticed there are apparently two modes for CLI, and I think it has something to do with the browser, when I use Edge on Windows 10 I have this CLI:

However, when I use Google Chrome in Linux (but also Edge in some W10 systems) shows the following one:

The former one is unusable (at least I cannot run any command in there), the latter one is fully usable and I can run commands perfectly.

Why do you think is this?

There can be too many reasons to try and find the specific one - Javascript compatibility, Privacy/Security settings on different OSes.

Inconsistence in GUI between browsers/OS/FortiOS versions has been with us so many years that no one really tries to debug them any more - the universal solution "just use another browser until it works" always helps.

On a personal note - only when there is absolutely no other choice do I use this Cli applet in GUI, SSH client is so much more comfortable and productive.

That sounds interesting to me, could I set the SSH access also from SSL-VPN?

yes depending on fortios version and if you set a allowaccess ssh on the ssl.root interface. I wrote  post a few years back on this

And to add, I also never ever use the gui applet for console access.
