Difference Between Simple and Reglar Expression (URL Filter)

Dear Experts,

 

I am little a bit confused in type of URL Filter (Simple and Regular Expression), plz explain me with simpkle example so that i can understand easily.

    In general, with Simple expression you must introduce explicitly the url you want to authorize, and with the regular you can add same expression like '.' to have dynamic processing, for example site.com will apply action also to site1.com, site2.com...
